This is Yoona from
Girls Generation (she is Korean). I knew about her because my friend (more
specific my ex desk mate during form 5) adores her so much and always shows her
group music video to me in class (Pssst, he brought smartphone illegally).
Again, what can you
describe about her?
Okay, the last one….
This is Heliza Helmi (I knew almost everyone knows her plus she came to the KMB
during Mega fair 2017 for forum session). Honestly, she is really an idol! A
kind of Mrs Perfect.
Okay, enough for these three pictures.
What can you describe from those ladies? Although three of them come from
different country, different race and different style, but all of us agree that
they are all beauty, right? Yes, today we wanna talk about beauty!
What is beauty? Do I need to answer it
because everybody already knows what it is right? Even if I ask my little
sister who still in primary school what is beauty then she would point herself,
grinned and ran away because I will pinch her cheek, lol! If we talk about
beauty, everyone can list down every single characteristic that beauty people
must have.
Flawless
Fair
Skinny
White
Tall
Fairer
Taller
‘S’ size
And more………….. (List down yourself)
Okay, all of these traits are something
that can be seen by naked eyes. Beauty is always being associated with
something physical. Somehow, certain people might define beauty through their
attitude, from their heart. Kind people are beauty. Lovely people are beauty.
All of this are too clichΓ© to talk about. Almost all culture in this world describes
beauty in the same way but do you know that there is culture in this world that
looks beauty in a really different way?
Once, I had read a novel about a canteen
owner who is responsible to become a mentor to these three anorexic girls, and
in that novel, the author shares a story about Mauritania’s girls. I’m so
curious to know the truth so I opened the laptop and asked my beloved Uncle
Google about those Mauritania’s people, and what my Uncle Google told me is
really surprising! Thank you Uncle Google!
In Mauritania, fat girl is a sign of
wealth. If she is skinny, then people will see her as an impoverished daughter.
Girls received more food than boys (Nay, I doesn’t wanna live there cause I
will receive less food every day).
They even have a farm to force-feed those
girls to become fat (Wow)! Men are really attracted to marry obese girls. Fat
lady is believed to produce a healthy offspring and brings wealth to the
family.
In that feeding-farm, girls are having the
same routine everyday which is eat, rest, eat again, rest again, eat, eat and
eat more until they becomes fat (oh my god! Such a leisure life.) However, this
trend is seen as old fashioned and their government is trying to eliminate this
culture from their life because it is not healthy to become overweight. Still,
some Mauritanians are practicing it because they see beauty in that way.
What I can reflect is, not all people see beauty in the same way. This might be influence by several factors such as culture. Human is so subjective, they have their own preferences and perception. If someone says that you are ugly, it is okay! Find someone that says you are beauty and appreciate you like their queen. There will always be one for you. =)
Okay, that is all from me for today. Hope you enjoy reading this entry and gain some benefits from it. See ya later!
and dont forget, red lips and rosy cheeks
